My husband and I recently purchase a home that was built in 1925, and we installed a 12x12 foot tin ceiling in the kitchen. When the time came to apply a finish, I knew I wanted color to reduce the shiny expanse of tin. I had never attempted a faux finishing project of this magnitude, and so I began.
I applied Professional primer to cover the bare metal and then began faux finishing the ceiling using Rust-Oleum products. For the fourth step of the application process I sprayed Universal Brown Hammered across the entire ceiling creating a “speckled” appearance with some areas heavier in application. The Universal Brown Hammered gave depth to the ceiling. I am in complete awe of what I was able to create with spray-type products!
I found the Universal Brown Hammered product to be of phenomenal quality and easy to apply. The ergonomic design and size of the handle allowed me to hold the can parallel to the ceiling directing the application to the desired area with ease. It also reduced fatigue on my neck and the index finger, which is more common with other valve-type sprayers. With the project completed, my entire family is enamored by the wonderful results that turned a plain ceiling into a work of art! The vision I had for the space was realized with the use of the Universal Brown Hammered product.
